A rich, fruity red mead named after Abbot Dafydd ab Ieuan of Valle Crucis Abbey, Llangollen in who's garden the famous Welsh poet Guto'r Glyn said "there is an old drink to make me happy. I found white mead and dark-red bragget". Monatic houses were well known for making mead, very often mixing seasonal fruits, flowers and herbs with the honey to add colour, flavour and complexity. We hope Guto'r Glyn would have approved of this mead, named for his generous sponsor.
